The Voigtländer 75mm F1.9 Ultron VM-Mount is a completely new development and is offered with two different lens coatings:
MC (Multi Coated) and SC (Single Coated).
The Voigtländer 75mm F1.9 Ultron VM fits seamlessly into this characteristic and offers photographers a great deal of creative freedom.
The redesigned optics consist of seven elements in five groups, three of which feature state-of-the-art partial dispersion glass technology, which suppresses chromatic aberration and ensures high image quality. The balance between bokeh and resolution has been optimized by deliberately maintaining moderate spherical aberration: the sharpness of the in-focus image areas is maintained, while the out-of-focus area creates a rich and expansive bokeh effect.
While the MC version responds in a balanced and controlled manner across almost all exposure situations, the SC version deliberately exhibits flares and scattered light, especially in backlit conditions. These cannot be influenced and occur randomly, but are often used by some photographers as a stylistic device. Under optimal lighting conditions, the image results of both versions are very similar.
With a total length of just 54.1mm, the lens remains extremely compact and barely protrudes into the viewfinder image of rangefinder cameras. Its weight of just 290g also contributes to comfortable handling.
The MC model features a matte black finish, while the SC model has a slightly glossy black finish, more reminiscent of the classic lenses. Both come with a screw-on lens hood and a metal lens cap.
