- Sound Radix SurferEQ (Digital Product)
Sound Radix SurferEQ 2 is an innovative equalizer plug-in that has been specially developed for music production, mixing and sound design and enables dynamic sound processing in real time. At the heart of the functionality is the so-called surfing technology: unlike conventional equalizers, the EQ bands in SurferEQ 2 can automatically follow the pitch of a monophonic signal. This means that filter frequencies are adapted to the tonal movement of the input signal in a musically correct way – a function that offers enormous advantages, particularly when processing vocals, basslines or melodic instruments in the context of pop, hip-hop, R&B or electronic music production.
SurferEQ 2 from Sound Radix has six fully parameterizable EQ bands, each of which can be switched between different filter types such as Bell, High Shelf, Low Shelf, High Pass, Low Pass or Notch. Each of these bands can be operated in static mode(fixed frequency) or in surfing mode. Thanks to the intelligent pitch tracking, the ratio of the processing to the harmonic structure of the input signal remains constant – a significant advantage over static equalizers, especially in tonally complex or strongly changing audio signals.
SurferEQ 2 also offers MIDI control for external control of the EQ frequencies. The filter movement can also be precisely adjusted via adjustable band behavior, including linear or exponential scaling. The software is suitable for both detailed corrections and creative sound design tasks.
The plugin is compatible with all common 64-bit DAWs and runs on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows. AAX Native, VST, VST3 and AU are supported. In addition to the actual equalizing, SurferEQ 2 can also be used to create dynamic filter movements – for example in the electronic music sector or for post-processing vocals where natural, pitch-dependent EQ processing is required.
