The Samyang 12mm T2.2 VDSLR NCS CS in FUJIFILM X MOUNT is the cine lens version of the 12mm f2.8 but with integrated gearing for video rigs with follow focus systems and decoupled aperture. Suitable for FUJIFILM X MOUNT APS-C mirrorless cameras with Cropped Sensors (CS) it is a high-performing manual focus prime lens. The 12mm Cine lens offers compact systems an affordable, high quality, ultra wide-angle lens dedicated for video and film although still equally be used for stills photography. The Samyang VDSLR lens versions are rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops which is usual for cinema-type lenses. The Samyang 12mm offers an equivalent wide angle of 18mm on APS-C sized sensors. An ultra wide-angle, prime lens, the Samyang 12mm T2.2 NCS CS has been designed to work with MFT or APS-C cameras. VDSLR Samyang lenses are fitted with gears compatible with follow focus systems. This solution allows for effortless and accurate rotation of focus and aperture rings. The aperture ring is rotated smoothly and noiselessly. These modifications allow for extremely comfortable and effective control of the focal plane and depth of field during filming.

Its optics comprise of 12 lens elements arranged in 10 groups. The model has been fitted with three ED lenses with a low dispersion factor, two aspherical lens elements, including one hybrid element. All lens elements have been covered with the highest-quality anti-reflective NCS coatings. The lens provides a maximum angle of view equal to 98.9 degrees, while the minimum focusing distance is 0.2 meters. The brightness of the lens corresponds with the T-number of 2.2. To facilitate the reading on the focus and aperture scale, both these indexes are marked in a parallel position to the optical axis of the lens.
