The Samyang MF 14mm F2.8 MK2 Nikon F AE is a further development of the popular Samyang MF 14mm F2.8 lens to meet the highest demands of fans of manual photography. The second generation of this lens brings some innovations.

Thanks to Focus Lock , long-term exposures and time lapses become child's play: Thanks to a separate ring, you can now lock the selected focus. This means that you can tamper with the camera without losing or inadvertently adjusting the selected focus. This function is particularly useful, for example, for astrophotography (astro-landscape and widefield). Especially for long exposures, of which several are often made in a row for later stacking, a reliably set focus is required. The function is just as useful for time-lapse shots, where the camera is also aimed at the same subject for a day or two.
With the De-Click-Function cancel the click-stops of the aperture steps. The aperture can then be continuously adjusted, which enables precise, fine adjustment and is also very useful for film work. Simply turn the silver ring of the lens to "Click" or "Free" as you need it.
Note: With Nikon cameras, the aperture should be set via the camera, as not all camera models allow manual adjustment of the aperture on the lens.

New aperture, new design and weather protection
The aperture built into this 2nd generation lens has 9 rounded blades instead of the previous 6. This makes it easier to create round highlights in the bokeh. Sun stars, which are formed when the aperture is slightly open and a light source is in focus, also have 18 instead of 12 rays.
The exterior of the lens has also been redesigned. The controls are easy to grip and their shape makes them dirt-repellent. Now this lens also has a weather protection on the bayonet, which protects the inside from moisture and raindrops. This does not make it waterproof, but it can also be used safely when it rains or drifts in snow.

Unique perspectives
With an impressive angle of view of 115.7 ° on full format and 93.9 ° on APS-C , this lens enables landscape shots as naturally as indoor photography. Thanks to the close focus limit of 28 cm, almost no room is too small for good photos. The compact 14mm Samyang wide-angle lens creates unique images. The Samyang lens is suitable for the entire spectrum of wide-angle photography, but especially for astro and landscape photography as well as indoor shots. The pronounced impression of depth in the wide-angle shots offers space for creative photography. Thanks to the very good light intensity of F2.8, great shots are possible even in poor lighting conditions.

High resolution for excellent optical quality
The outstanding imaging performance is due to the complex optical system. This consists of 10 groups with 14 lenses and thus sets standards. Special mention should be made of the special lenses: 1 aspherical lens, 1 aspherical hybrid lens, 1 ED lens and 3 HR lenses. With these high-precision aspherical and highly refractive lenses, various imaging errors are minimized and a crystal-clear, crisp image is created. In particular, the excellent distortion correction has to be mentioned, as well as the excellent resolution from the center to the edge. The built-in lens hood also prevents the annoying, lateral incidence of light and the associated lens reflections.

The electronics built into the lens make it possible to work with automatic exposure or program controls and simplify focusing. In addition, EXIF data are transmitted.
